The dirty-hand commander of 3rd Platoon "Captain America" McGraw still haunts Bravo Company. McGraw's assault on the  prisoner in the previous episode causes Eric Kocher (Owain Yeoman, Troy) to be demoted from the position of  Team Leader, while McGraw is unharmed. Iceman Brad Colbert (though in another  Platoon) gets so annoyed that he finds McGraw to raise questions about it but only to hear hypocritical things from McGraw.

Not only that, McGraw later volunteers to take on the task of escorting 2 engineers into a minefield in the middle of the night - a crazy task. And McGraw assigns Eric Kocher to this task - perhaps with the intention of letting him to be killed in the mission in order to "close" the assault case that involved McGraw.

Then, two chemical engineers in the army, instead of standing on the road doing their work, they wander into the minefield and an explosion occurr: one loses his eye, the other loses his leg.

McGraw continues to be the bastard when he orders the vehicle carrying the wounded engineers to take a shortcut, although the other soldiers warned against it. As a result, the vehicle gets bogged down on the shortcut, the wounded suffers a concussion, and other soldiers have to carry them manually and run back.

Later, before parting with the Reconnaissance Battalion, reporter Even Wright has a farewell conversation with the Godfather. Through the conversation we learn that the incompetent, trickery and rag McGraw is being trusted by Godfather and will likely soon rise to higher positions; Meanwhile, Iceman's Platoon Commander Fick is being targeted and the possibility of his being dismissed is very high.

The episode and also the season ends when reporter Even Wright's journey wraps with Iceman's team. There seems to be too much to say when parting, Wright can only say one word "Thanks" to the fantastic four: Iceman, Person, Trombley and Walt. Iceman just say to Wright “Stay frosty”!.

At the end of the episode, a group of young soldiers from the Reconnaissance Battalion gather to watch a video summarizing their days gone by. They watch with excitement at first, then one by one they leave the show - each with their own concerns and worries about internal affairs, teammates, superiors, family, and  a hometown where divorce awaits them…and maybe they are contemplating the meaning of this war.

Trombley is the last one left, he wants to watch the video to its end. It seems that these are the beautiful and happy days in the life of this young soldier.

The fact that the Commander of the 1st Combat Regiment, Colonel Dowdy, was dismissed from his command for not being aggressive have an impact on the overall psyche of Bravo Company. "Encino Man" Schwetje meets 2nd Platoon Commander Nathaniel Fick with a tacit threat and reiterates the principle of absolute obedience to the orders of superiors - meaning Schwetje's.

Sergeant Ray "Casey Kasem" Griego directly assigns some of Fick's platoon soldiers a mission without talking to him first; this angers Fick and he challenges Griego with strong words.

"Captain America" 3rd Platoon Commander McGraw continues his "clown" behavior. When his teammates had captured an enemy and were escorting the guy, McGraw suddenly burst into with a knife, and ... slipped; then he reported to his superiors that he was the one who captured the enemy. All the credits then come to him! Quite a hero.

Another time, when a teammate had already overpowered a gunman, McGraw also suddenly rushed from nowhere to brutally abuse the victim unnecessarily and exclaimed as if it was his merit. The violent behavior then received a negative response from the people of the other Company.

Bravo members have a lot of free time now for chatting and playing,  and John Sixta with a hen voice would suddenly appear to correct discipline with lectures and threats.

Iceman Brad also has a sublime minute: he's topless and dances across the lawn as he flies, to the surprised stares of the entire Platoon. Josh Ray Person thinks Iceman is high, but he's actually just trying to relax. But over there, in the battle field, where can they find the drug to be high?

The useless "Godfather" Ferrando, who seemed unwilling to accept the fact that the war was moving from "reconnaissance" to "fights" in Baghdad, had been lobbying for another insane mission involved the Reconnaissance Battalion. The Humvees of Bravo Company, along with the fledgling reservists of Delta Company, will travel to Baghdad to confront the armored Iraqi army.

Along the way, the reservists nearly kill Iceman's group scouting the roadside. The scenario "our side shoot our own" recurs!

Generation Kill Episode 5: Humvee or L.A.V.? 🎥

In Generation Kill's "A Burning Dog" episode, the 2nd Platoon leads the Reconnaissance Battalion across a bridge with dense ambushes. They experience a fierce fire exchange there.

RELATED:

Previously, information from local people showed that there would be ambushes at the key bridge. A fleet of 8-wheeled light armored vehicles (LAVs) were sent to eliminate the ambush but failed, they returned with many casualties.

Godfather still decides to let the Battalion cross this bridge, with Iceman Brad's Humvee in the lead. This is almost a suicide mission. Anticipating the danger of the mission, Iceman even suggests that reporter Evan Wright should stay in the base rather than accompany his team.

In the long battle at the bridgehead, Iceman's fighting skills help save the situation for the US side. After the ambush is cleared, we see the punctured LAVs pulling straight to the bridge comfortably, even firing meaningless artillery as a kind of celebration.

Why didn't the Godfather let the LAVs team lead the way, but sent the weak Humvees ahead as if to burn themselves? As explained by Josh Ray Person, the commanders do not want to take the risks on the LAVs worth up to 5 million USD, so they are ready to "discard" rag Humvees (and the soldiers therein) in replace.

In fact, when seeing the LAVs slowly, calmly and peacefully passing by after the battle, Iceman's eyes shine with utter indignation. He must be feeling like a scapegoat, but luckily he did survive.

The vehicle carrying the company's commander - the obscure "Encino Man" Schwetje (Brian Patrick Wade) was the last one to go, in safe and almost free of combat. However, this is the only vehicle that struck in a hole and the incompetent Encino Man does not know how to handle it, just sitting there and making phone calls, affecting the journey of the entire Company.

Only when his subordinates come to "encourage" him, he starts to know how to mobilize people to lift the car out of the pit. Yeah, he even celebrates this brilliant with an ugly dance! Quite brilliant!

The next morning, among the corpses of the enemies, American soldiers discover many Jihad fighters who are not Iraqi, but Syrian and possibly from many other Middle Eastern countries.

Generation Kill Episode 4: Trombley's Heroic Moment 🎥

In the episode “Combat Jack” of Generation Kill series, the 1st Reconnaissance Battalion is far ahead of the rest of the Division, so they slow down their movement and have more time to rest. And this is the occasion when the soldiers' frustrations with their superiors are heated up and exploded.

The built-up discontent stemmed from the decision to leave behind the supply truck in the previous episode, which had staple food on it. Lacking food, soldiers now only eat one meal a day. So hungry, someone even pick up the leftovers that were thrown away.

Later, they also discover that the abandoned truck had the battalion's colors. And now it is in the hands of the enemy. This is a real shame on the Godfather.

This displeasure is shown in many rather excellent scenes. When the obscure Craig "Encino Man" Schwetje (Brian Patrick Wade) goes to meet the soldiers and suggests they speak out their mind, Robert Timothy "Doc" Bryan (Jonah Lotan) bluntly says, "It's just you are incompetent, sir."

And the lamp duck Dave "Captain America" McGraw (Eric Nenninger) has received a blunt warning from Sergeant Eric Kocher (Owain Yeoman) to fuck him up if he is to shoot the AK again. "Captain America" has to do his horribly humiliating job of burying his crappy AK guns.

During one of the company's ambushes by the road, Trombley (Billy Lush) recklessly stands in the open to see where the bullets come from while everyone else ran for cover. Thanks to his positioning skills, the helicopter destroy the enemy.

Trombley receive the admiration of his teammates. He says, he wants to see what it feels like to be shot, and when he watched a game show on TV at home, he felt more nervous than when I am here. Well, listen to such, Iceman Brad is speechless and eyes-wide-opened.

General Zaid Alhamadi's (CIA-trained) Iraqi Freedom Fighters also appear and plan to coordinate with the Reconnaissance Battalion on another mission. However, the group soon fled away when their campaign was compromised, and many were captured and executed by Ba'ath Party loyalists.

Bravo Company's next mission is to build a roadblocks on the main roads north of Al Hayy Town (previously occupied by Charlie Company) to prevent the enemy from returning.

While protecting the road, several unfortunate incidents happen. The soldiers had no choice but to shoot down the approaching vehicles if they did not obey the warning shots. There were cases where there were civilians in the vehicle, but they did not understand the meaning of the warning shots.

Like many civilians whose loved ones had been wounded before, they did not resent the Americans because they thought they were being liberated.
