RELATED

As in the comics, The Sandman series tells the story of Dream, who is also the Sandman, played by Tom Sturridge.

Sandman's Origins

Sandman has different names such as Dream, Morpheus, Oneiros, Shaper, Shaper of Form, Lord of the Dreaming, Dream King, Dream-Sneak, Cat of Dreams, Murphy , Kai'ckul and Lord L'Zoril. Sandman is the embodiment of human's scariest nightmares and most sublime dreams. In this universe, there exist two basic worlds, the Dream Realm where Sandman is the Lord and the Wake Realm.

Dream is one of the Seven Endless, including Destiny, Death, Desire, Despair, Delirium (formerly Delight) and Destruction. They are all older than any gods or deities in the universe.

Sandman's Abilities

As his name suggests, Sandman has a body made of sand particles, so he doesn't need to eat, sleep, or even breathe. Sandman can disintegrate his body into sand, can also turn them into solid blocks of granite, and his body itself is already a weapon.

Sandman's Journey in the Modern Time

At the beginning of the last century, Sandman was captured by a mystical ritual and imprisoned for 70 years (in the comics). The series will be set in the contemporary world of the 21st century instead of the 1980s like in the comics, so Sandman has been imprisoned for more than a century.

Finally, Sandman managed to escape, taking revenge on his captors, starting to rebuild the dream kingdom that was almost destroyed because of a long absence of the master - himself; dreams and nightmares no longer even recognize their Lord when Sandman returns.

Sandman's absence over the centuries also set off a series of events that changed both the dream and wake worlds forever. To restore order, Dream must travel across different worlds and timelines to correct the mistakes he's made over the course of his billion-year existence, revisiting his old friends and foes, while encountering new entities - both the cosmic and man - along the way.

Spheres in The Sandman

In addition to Dream and Wake Realms, the series is occasionally set in other worlds, such as Hell, Elves, Asgard, and domain of other Endless. Notably, the actress born in 1979, 1m90 tall, Gwendoline Christie will play the role of Lucifer. She is widely known for her role as Brienne of Tarth in the hit HBO series Game of Thrones.

The film also stars Vivienne Acheampong, Boyd Holbrook, Charles Dance, Asim Chaudhry and Sanjeev Bhaskar in supporting roles.

The Sandman is promised to be a rich blend of very dark horror with complex fantasy, combining classical and contemporary mythological elements, and ultimately placing the main character - Dream Master in the role of a tragic hero. The distinctive feature of The Sandman is the vivid personification of abstract human concepts.

MICHAEL'S PLOT TO BANISH CHLOE TO HELL

To do this, Michael masterminded Dan to be killed in the previous episode, while manipulating his soul to be banished to hell instead of going to heaven.

Because of Dan's death in the case in charge of Chloe, she will be sentenced to hell. When this truth is revealed, Chloe is even more motivated to help Lucifer in the fight against Michael.

TEAM MICHAEL AND TEAM LUCIFER

Michael kills Remiel and collects the last piece of the Flaming Sword. Lucifer, Amenadiel, Chloe, Eve, Maze, and several demons (summoned by Maze) face off against Michael and the angels at the Los Angeles Memorial Arena to vote on who will be the new God. After convincing, Angel Zadkiel (Joel Rush) and another female angel switch to Lucifer's side.

At the beginning of the duel, Lucifer suggests that the winner be God, the loser to hell; but Michael proposes that the loser must be perished by the blade of death; and Lucifer agrees.

MICHAEL – LUCIFER FIGHT

Machael activates the Flaming Sword and easily overpower the  empty-handed Lucifer. Amendadiel then borrows the Staff made from Tree of Life from Zadkiel and throws it to Lucifer as a weapon. The wooden weapon helps to balance the fight, but in the end Michael cuts the stick in half with his sword.

As Lucifer and Michael wrestle to take the Flaming Sword, Chloe appears and pulls the key from the sword, causing it to revert back to the form of a death knife. Michael chases after Chloe to get the key back and fatally stabs her with the half of the broken staff.

As she is dying, Chloe tells Lucifer that she knew Dan's death was not her fault. Relieved of guilt, she is sent to Heaven instead of Hell against Michael's plot.

Not wanting to lose Chloe, Lucifer flys to Heaven to save her. Lucifer is forbidden in this place, so he would have been destroyed if it weren't for Lilith's ring of immortality. Lucifer is able to reach Chloe and gives her the ring so she could resurrect in the mortal world. This means Lucifer will die.

NEW GOD OF HEAVEN CLAIMED

In the mortal world, Chloe revives and uses her superhuman strength given by the key in her hand to beat Michael to submission. She takes the blade of death to kill Michael when Lucifer suddenly returns in good shape and tell her to stop.

Instead of executing his brother as a pre-war deal, Lucifer choses to cut off Michael's wings to give him a second chance on Earth.

Lucifer's selfless sacrifice makes him the new God with the Flaming Sword in hand, and all the angels gather to kneel before him.

Lucifer Season 5 Episode 15 - RIP Dan 🎥

In Episode "Is This Really How It's Going to End?!", when the most angels show their support for Michael, Lucifer tries to meet some on Earth individually to lobby for his vote. However, he only receives estrangement from everyone: the fact that he had rebelled against God in the past and lived in hell for a long time make most of the angels distrust him.

RELATED:

During their final days at LADP, Chloe and Lucifer investigate a case about a man who mysteriously died in an luxurious cellar.

The case reveals Michael's scheme. Michael hires a French mercenary to track down the Key that was stolen from Caleb's buried body and ended up in the hands of a man named TJ Ross.

Lucifer and Amenadiel then piece together the story and learn that Michael is trying to gather the Flaming Sword to win the coming war.

The Flaming Sword is the most powerful weapon in the universe, divided by God into 3 pieces: Azrael's Blade of Death, the key kept in Amenadiel's necklace (which he later put on Celeb's body before being buried) and the Medallion of Life. If 3 pieces are combined  together, the original Flaming Sword would take shape.

In the process of solving the case, Dan Espinoza is killed by the French mercenary.
