Geralt helps relieve Ciri's obsession

With great determination, Ciri overcomes some physical exercises and complex and dangerous skill training  However, she suffers bloody injuries and bruises.

Assuming that Ciri's impatience may be rooted in her haunting visions, Geralt asks her to detail what she had envisaged over. Based on that, Geralt takes Ciri into a wood where she felt being "pulled" into. Here they face two monsters in a row: the tree-shaped Fleshy whose arm Eskel had cut off before, and then a large centipede-bodied goat-headed monster. Both want to hunt Ciri.

Besides, Eskel's mutation into Fleshy is still a mystery to both Vesemir and Geralt, although they try to dissect Eskel's body for research. Vesemir thinks that there are strange things going on in this world, which may stem from Ciri's presence.

Power struggle at the Brotherhood

Yennefer roams the continent for a month looking for a way to restore her magic, but to no avail. She returns to Aretuza, but instead of being greeted as a hero, she becomes a suspected spy.

The mages who formerly chose to stay out of the war like Stregobor have become discredited, and they fear those entering the war like Tissaia and Vilgefortz (Mahesh Jadu) would take their seats on the Council. In order to sabotage, Stregobor (Lars Mikkelsen) finds many dirty tricks to bring down Yennefer and brand her as a spy.

To prove her loyalty to the Brotherhood, Yennefer is forced to become the executioner in the execution of Cahir at the war memorial, which is attended by the kings of the North. Instead of beheading Cahir (Eamon Farren), she chooses to cut off the chains that bound his hands and get on a horse to flee away with Cahir.
