"Fantastic Beasts 3" Holds Its Simmering Heat, "The Northman" Is Short of Breath

Two of the blockbusters released in April 2022 being "Fantasic Beasts: The Secrects of Dumblore" and "The Northman" suffered a bad opening week, and the situation seems to be worse when Marvel's "Doctor Strange In The Multiverse of Madness ” was released in early May 2022, continuing to disperse a large number of viewers from them.

The Northman 2022: Wild and Naked Battles with Fake-But-Real Genitals

The movie The Northman 2022 starring Alexander Skarsgard as the Viking prince Amleth on a journey of revenge. The story is somehow inspired by William Shakespeare's famous Hamlet, but Alexander did not spend much time studying the poet's poetry, but focused on his workout for fight scenes in a wildly violent movie.

Viking culture and history have flooded the screen in recent years; However, this does not necessarily make The Northman any less interesting.

After his father was murdered by his uncle who usurped the throne, Amleth fled in the woods and lived many years apart from the human world. This forms the wild features in Amleth's way of fighting: it strongly reflects the fighting and hunting of jungle beasts.

In some fight scenes, the characters are almost or completely naked, ie with genitals shown (in normal conditions, probably). The movie director Robert Eggers said that the penises of actors, including Alexander's, appearing on screen are not real but were created by CGI on computers. The reason for this is not so much because the actors were concerned about showing off their private stuffs, but because "no one wanted to get their bits chopped off".

However, Robert Eggers said he tries to make sure the CGI images are realistic. They thoroughly scanned Alexander's full body to make sure the CGI-generated genitals accurately reflected what belongs to Alexander physically. So, fake but real!

Explaining the naked fight scenes, Robert said tht the Vikings sometimes took off their clothes and fighted naked. In that way, they show they are fearless, or to intimidate their enemies.

Alexander's character Amleth will have a dramatic duel with a giant played by Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson. The 2.05 meter tall Hafþór once won the title of "World's Strongest", best known for his role as Gregor Clegane (also known as The Mountain) in the series Game of Thrones.

Alexander Skarsgård to star a version of the tragic Prince Hamlet in The Northman 2022

The Northman is an American epic historical film directed by Robert Eggers and co-written by Eggers and Sjón. The film stars Alexander Skarsgård as the Viking Prince Amleth, who embarks on a quest for revenge after his father was murdered by his uncle. Nicole Kidman, Claes Bang, Anya Taylor-Joy, Ethan Hawke, Björk and Willem Dafoe join the cast in supporting roles.

Amleth (Latinized Amlethus, Old Icelandic Amlóði) is a character in medieval Scandinavian legend, who is the direct inspiration for William Shakespeare to create the character of Prince Hamlet in the Tragedy of Hamlet - Prince of Denmark.

The Northman is set in the early tenth century in Iceland, King Aurvandill (Ethan Hawke) is murdered by his brother Fjölnir (Claes Bang), who usurps the throne and forces Queen Gudrún (Nicole Kidman) to remarry with him.

Thus, after Aquaman 2018, Nicole Kidman once again plays the role of an Empress/Queen going through complicated marriages.

King Aurvandill's young son Amleth flees his uncle's pursuit, and many years later he returned to avenge his uncle and free his mother.

Swedish Alexander Skarsgård, born 1976, 1m94 tall, is widely known for his roles as Iceman Brad Colbert in Generation Kill, Tarzan / John Clayton in The Legend of Tarzan, Prime Minister James Steward in Long Shot, and more recently as Nathan Lind in the blockbuster Godzilla vs. Kong.

The Northman is scheduled to be released theatrically in the United States on April 22, 2022, by Focus Features, and will be distributed worldwide by Universal Pictures.
