AMC has announced the release schedule of Season 2 of “The Walking Dead: World Beyond” on October 3, 2021. The series will serve as a bridge between "The Walking Dead" and "Fear the Walking Dead" in the zombie universe as both series will go to their final seasons in late 2021 and early 2022.
@The movie is shown on AMC, FX, Amazon or follow the link at the end of the article.
World Beyond focuses on a group of survivors living on a campus of a university in Nebraska known as Campus Colony. They live in an isolated world with full amenities, and are almost immured to the outside world of the walking dead. The main characters of World Beyond in Season 1 are Hope Bennett (Alexa Mansour), Iris Bennett (Aliyah Royale), Huck (Annet Mahendru), Elton Ortiz (Nicolas Cantu), Silas Plaskett (Hal Cumpston) all in their teens and Felix Carlucci (Nico Tortorella).
From Nebraska, Hope and Iris and a group of friends secretly set off to New York to rescue their father Leo Bennett (Joe Holt) after receiving pessimistic messages from him after he came to aid the Civic Republican Army (CRM) in a research on methods to combat the zombie epidemic.
However, it is later revealed that Huck, who was traveling with them, was actually a secret agent for the CRM - having forged messages from Leo. In fact, Huck is working with Lieutenant Colonel Elizabeth Kublek (Julia Ormond) to bring Hope, a genius, to work for CRM with her father.
In the final episode of Season 1, when Iris and Felix are on their way back to the campus, they meet Will and a group of Campus Colony people and learn that their settlement has been destroyed by CRM. No home to come back now.
The mysterious fate of the character Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) may be explained in Part 2 of World Beyond, hopefully, although the character will not appear in the show.
The current timeline of the 3 zombie series as follows:
- The Walking Dead Season 10: 2021 (about 11 years after the apocalypse). Showtime Season 11: 15 Aug 2021.
- The Walking Dead: World Beyond Season 1: 2020-2021 (about 10 years after the apocalypse). Showtimes Season 2: October 3, 2021.
- Fear The Walking Dead Season 6: 2013-2014 (about 4 years after the apocalypse). Showtimes Season 7: October 17, 2021.
Thus, after episode 16 of Fear TWD, we come to know that the world had suffered two disasters in a row, namely the zombie epidemic, followed by a mass massacre on a large scale with nuclear missiles initiated by the mad Teddy.
It seems that the current characters (in TWD and World Beyond in the context of 2020-2021) almost know nothing about the 2nd cataclysm, while the radioactive remnants would still affect their environment for years.
