The sẻies, set in the late Cretaceous period, 66 million years ago, integrates many new discoveries about dinosaurs using current paleontological studies, such as feathered dinosaurs.

This is the first dinosaur-focused documentary series produced by the BBC since Planet Dinosaurs in 2011; before that was "Walking with Dinosaurs" in 1999.

As introduced by David Attenborough in the trailer, the series will ❝explore the coastlines where giants roam; the deserts where danger rules; and the ice world where survival is everything.

The central characters of the series would be probably still the Tyrannosaurus Rexes; it's expected to explain some of the current controversies as to whether the T Rex had feathers, or did they develop feathers at some stage in their life span (juvenile) and will shed as adults, and whether polar T-Rex had developed feathers to survive the extreme cold.

The main dinosaurs that will appear in the series:

  • Tyrannosaurus
  • Velociraptor
  • Carnotaurus
  • Edmontosaurus
  • Olorotitan
  • Pachyrhinosauru
  • Qianzhousauru
  • Nanuqsaurus
  • Triceratops
  • Pterosaurs
