Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer is a 2007 superhero film directed by Tim Story. After their confrontation in the previous installment, the Fantastic Four and Doctor Doom allied with the Silver Surfer to save Earth from Galactus.

PLOT OF FANTASTIC FOUR 2007

Silver Surfer is an alien entity, traveling on a silver surf board which supplies him with super energy source. Silver Surfer's mission is to create holes throughout the earth to make way for his master, Galactus, to consume all the energy and life of the earth, in which the surfboard acts as a guiding lighthouse.

During their first encounter, Johnny Storm (Human Torch - being able to transform himself into a flying torch, played by Chris Evans) is attacked by Silver Surfer that changes the molecular structure of his body. Since then, Johnny Storm can swap superpowers with any of the Fantastic Four just by touching their bodies.

Meanwhile, the Surfer's movements across the globe brings him to Latveria, where his cosmic energy affects Victor Von Doom, freeing him from his metal form during the past 2 years. However Doom after being releasing has many body deformations. Doom finds Doom and proposes an alliance. When denied, Doom attacks Surfer and is shot back, but the cosmic energy from Surfer's blast heals Doom's body instead of killing him.

Doom returns and uses his experience to influence the US military to recruit him and force the reluctant Fantastic Four to work with Doom on their quest to eliminate the Surfer.

Doom points out that the silver surfboard is the source of the Surfer's power. Dr. Reed Richards (Mr. Fantastic, a scientific genius with the ability to shapeshift his body to all shapes and sizes) builds a pulse generator that can separate the Surfer from the silver surfboard.

However, Doom soon reveals his dark scheme to usurp the silver board for his own use. Johnny Storm must gather the powers of the other three of the Fantastic Four to fight Doom.

Susan Storm (Invisible Woman, played by J Jessica Alba) tamed the Surfer and convinced him to fight Galactus who is about to devour the Earth.

FANTASTIC FOUR FUTURE IN MCU

To date, there are 3 Fantastic Four movies, the 2005, 2007, 2015 versions and all received mixed reviews. These are characters from Marvel Comics but the cinematic rights at this time belonged to Fox.

Fantastic Four 2007 received mixed to negative reviews from critics, who although some considered it an improvement over the first film, but eventually it grossed less than its predecessor.

A third movie had been already planned; but due to the conflict between the director and Jessica Alba, and later the difficulty of the producers in finding a new director, everything came to a dead end.

The series was rebooted in 2015, with a completely new cast, but it was a massive failure. Finally, the film rights of the Fantastic Four felt back to Marvel Studios after Disney acquired Fox Studios in 2019.

There is still no official announcement from Marvel about Fantastic Four-related movie projects. However, many surmise that among Marvel's as-yet-unnamed projects for 2023 there is a Fantastic Four movie.

In the 2021 Loki series, Kang the Conqueror was officially introduced into the Marvel Cinematic Universe Phase 4 (MCU). In Marvel Comics, Kang has quite a lot of affinity with the Fantastic Four, typically this Quartet defeated Kang whe he disguised as Pharaoh Rama-Tut in ancient Egypt and forced him to leave this timeline.

And there are also many conjectures, deducing that the mainstream Kang (ie Nathaniel Richards in the 31st century) is a descendant of both Victor Von Doom (Dr. Doom) and Mr. Fantastic (Dr. Reed Richards).
