Taweret takes out Steven and Marc's hearts and put them on one Scales, the Feather of Truth on the other end. If the Scales balance when the boat reaches A'aru, their souls will go to heaven (Fields of Reed), otherwise they will be pulled by the dead to the underworld or hell (Duat).

The Scales constantly wobbles, forcing Steven and Marc to re-enter the house of past to review the memories of their lives, in order to find a balance. It is in this process that explains how Marc was chosen by Konshu to become the Moon Knight, and the origin of the Marc-Steven personality separation.

In the past, Marc took his younger brother to play in the forest, but the younger brother died in an accident. This made Marc's mother blame all the guilt on Marc and badly treat as well as and torture Marc since then. Marc's childhood was a series of unhappy days. When he grew up, Marc ran away from home and became a mercenary (assassin).

On the day Marc's mother died, Marc returned and thought that his mother's death would make Marc release all his childhood frustrations and miseries. But the truth is no, it distracts Marc and gives birth to another personality, Steven. Steven often called a non-existent number and speaks to the nobody as "mom", with full of passions, and often lamented, shared all the troubles in his life.

Steven is the bright version of life that Marc wants to have. So, basically, the Moon Knight stories originated in a family tragedy.

Thanks to the guidance of Ammit's scarab,  Arthur and his followers discover the location of Ammit's tomb in the desert and begin digging. In Cairo, Steven/Marc fails to track down Arthur's whereabouts.

When no information is obtained, Khonshu alters the circulation of the sun and moon to summon the Egyptian gods through their human Avatars. Khonshu's purpose is to warn them of Arthur's plan. However, the cunning Arthur successfully denies the accusations, even making the gods turn to judge and threaten Khonshu.

Yatzil - the Avatar of Goddess Hathor who is the only one who believes in Khonshu, directs Marc to find the sarcophagus  of a medjay named Senfu who was tasked with recording the location of Ammit's tomb.

This sarcophagus is currently owned by an antique tycoon (and thief), Anton Mogart. Layla takes Marc to meet Anton - who she knew before. However, Arthur appears and destroys the sarcophagus, inciting a fight between Marc - Layla with Anton's bodyguards.

Before fleeing into the desert, Marc/Steven obtains a number of map fragments placed on the coffin to reattach to form a star map. However, that is the position of the stars 2000 years ago; Khonshu uses his powers to turn the night sky back to the exact night that the map was created, so that Layla can locate the position.

Because Khonshu's act of changing the order of nature, the other gods join forces to cast spells to imprison Khonshu in a ushabti. Because of this, Steve/Marc's body becomes unconscious and powerless.

The episode marks the appearance of actor Gaspard Ulliel as Anton, possibly as his last footage, after he died in a skiing accident 2 months ago.

Steven often has strange dreams about another life and sometimes wakes up to find himself in another world. Therefore, he often ties his feet to the bed before falling into sleep, sealing the door ... to ensure that he is not dragged away by "sleepwalking".

After going to bed one night, he wakes up in another country to witness a cult meeting led by Arthur Harrow. Arthur asks Steven to return a bug-shaped artifact that Steven doesn't understand why he has in his hand. Steven realizes he cannot control his body at will, then he is hunted by Arthur's followers.

Steven wakes up in bed to find that his legs are still tied, believing that what he experienced was just a dream. But then, he discovered that from the time he went to bed until he woke up, it had been 2 days, a mysterious phone and key card hidden in his apartment, the goldfish the day before had 1 fins now suddenly turns into 2 fins. He receives a call from a mysterious woman named Layla, who calls him Marc.

The next day at work, Steven is confronted by Arthur - the person he thought only existed in his dreams. Arthur claims to be the embodiment or servant of Goddess Ammit. Arthur asks Steven to return the beetle, which he says belongs to the Goddess Ammit.

Who is Goddess Ammit?

Ammit, also known as Ammut or Ahemait, was an ancient Egyptian demon and goddess with the front legs of a lion, the hind legs of a hippopotamus, and the head of a crocodile — three species of largest "carnivorous" animals known to the ancient Egyptians.

Ammit lived near the scales of justice in Duat, the underworld of Egypt. Here, a person's heart will be weighed based on the feather of Ma'at - Goddess of Truth. If the heart is judged to be impure, Ammit will devour it, and the judged person is not allowed to continue on his journey towards Osiris and immortality.

Heart weighing is said to assess a person's purity in the past, present, and future. Thus, a person who may be honest and has not committed any crime can still be judged as bad and then to be killed to “prevent them from committing crimes in the future.”

Roughly, as world's first bogeyman, Ammit's approach is to "kill evil in its infancy".
