JERLAMAREL'S DARK MOTIVATIONS REVEALED

Haniwa and Kofun finally reach the House of Enlightenment, where they meet Jerlamarel and are provided with the amenities of modern life: light, heat, steam bath, art paintings ... Jerlamarel reveals to them his intention to spread his seeds (offsprings) far and wide, and then collect his kids here. He also considers him "the first of new breed", and blind people like animals. These facts make the two children feel uncomfortable.

HANIWA AND KOFUN'S DESPERATE ESCAPE FROM THEIR BLOOD FATHER

As Haniwa showers, Kofun eavesdrops on Jerlamarel’s conversation with a visiting colonel from the Trivantes army - an ally of Jerlamarel to overthrow the Queen. Accordingly, Jerlamarel agrees to hand over Haniwan, but keeps Kofu. 

This news shocks Kofun, but before he can do anything about it, a man of Jerlamarel knocks him out into unconsciousness. Haniwa is then taken away, Kofu is kept in prison but loudly protests to Jerlamarel that he asks his man to execute the boy.

THE BLIND DEFEATS THE SIGHT

Baba appears just in time to save his son then comes to into the House to find Jerlamarel for revenge. Jerlamarel has gun and eyes but Baba still manages to defeat him and damage his eyes, intentionally turning him into a blind one.

BOOTS AND QUEEN KANE

At the royal camp, Tamacti Jun and Maghra mutally agree to ask Kane to abduct. However, in a situtation, Boots suddenly appears to strike, stabbing the Witchfinder General, then Queen Kane stabs him again. Maghra is horrified, and Kane tells her bow to and join her as her right-hand counsel. 

At the end of the episode, Tamacti Jun may not be dead after all. Baba, Paris, and Kofun, travel until they can see the towering metropolis of Trivantes where Haniwa is being held.

SEE Season 1 Episode 7 | The Lavender Road | Subtitles

In episode 7 “The Lavender Road” of SEE series, Baba Voss's family starts a long journey, without Magthra, to reach the House of Enlightenment as per the note left  by Jerlamarel to his children.

THE MODERN HOUSE OF ENLIGHTENMENT

When they eventually reach the place, only Haniwa and Kofu are permitted by the the House of Enlightenment's guards to cross the last bridge, the others including Baba Voss must turn back.

WITCHFINDER GENERAL TO CHANGE MIND

Most of the episode focuses on the efforts and fights to rescue Queen Kane. After the efforts come to a success, the truth about the dam breaking and the whole city destruction is revealed to the Witchfinder General. 

This fact seems to change his mind about who should be the ruler of the kingdom which he has served for in his entire life.

SEE Season 1 Episode 6 | Silk | Shall Maghra be in power?

In Episode 6 “Silk” of Apple TV's SEE series, at the silk making factory, Queen Kane is cheated by a female captor to reveal her true identity by mistake.  The boss of the factory rips the royal amulet from her chest and uses it as a proof sent to the Witchfinder General to exchange the Queen for some payments.

THE DECEIVING BOOTS

In running away from the army, Baba Voss team is lured and trapped into a dark cave by Boots, where they meet with Boots' mother. She tells them the story of the underground inhabitants and the bad characteristics of Boots and askes Babao Voss team to kill him.

THE PRINCESSES AND THE GENERAL

Outside, Maghra has a long discussions with the Witchfinder General about their past relationships and how he had prevented her from ruling the kingdom, instead of her elder ill-suited sister. 

When news of Queen Kane's capture comes to them, Boots approaches Maghra and offers to help thanks to his ability of vision, in exchange for a position as lieutenant.

In episode 5, “Plastic”, an abandoned site decorated with plastic items is inhabited by a new character named Boots who is said to be another son-with-sight of Jerlamarel. The boy stole the jewelry of Maghra which was a gift from her father.

QUEEN NOW AS A SILK WORKER

As foreseen in episode 4, the sabotage action of Queen Kane leaves the dam burst and drowning all the below city, and she runs away just in time with a carriage driver and the close maid. She soon finds her in hunger, her last companies be killed and herself captured to a silk-making factory where she receives bad treatment and must work as a worker.

TRUE IDENTITY OF MAGHRA REVEALED

Baba Voss's family is latter chased by and surrounded by witch finders and seems to hardly survive the attack unharmed. Maghra moves to face-to-face Witchfinder General and rings her jewelry which turns out to be a bell, making him finally recognize her as the princess of Kane or the younger sister of Queen Kane.

QUEEN KANE ELIMINATES HER FOES

At the palace, the Queen faces stronger objections from Parliament members for her decision to send more troops for the witchfinding mission. 

The high-ranking Lady An and Lord Dune make a plan to kill the Queen by a poisonous spider but she knows the plan in advance and kill them all.

A DEVASTATING AND FLEEING QUEEN

The killing triggers protests and marches by the public against the palace to dethrone the Queen. She decides to flee away in search of Jerlamarel, but before doing so, she turns off the engines of the hydropower plant, making the upstream water overloading possibly breaking the dam.

SLAVERS AND SLAVES

The next morning, it turns out that the other tribe are Slavers who kidnap people to be sold as slaves, and several young people in Baba's tribe are missing, including his son Kofun. This urges Baba to track the Slavers and engage in a bloody fight to rescue Kofun, with the help of Haniwa who now is a talented archer. It is also revealed that Baba has a  complicated family past as a slaver.

THE BOTTLED MESSAGE SAVES THE WITCHFINDER

Failing the mission to capture Jerlamarel's two children, the Witchfinder General returns to Queen Kane and accepts the punishment of "killing himself".

However, the Queen then receives the message from the bottle sent by Gether Bax telling her of the people with sight/vision, she askes the General to stop suicidal and continue the witch-finding mission to Baba's tribe location.

SEE’ second episode, “Message in a Bottle”, focuses on the growing-up of the two children with vision, being raised by Baba Voss, and their access to the books left by their blood father Jerlamarel.

The episode starts with Baba Voss (Jason Momoa) taking a morning stroll, while carrying his two infants, in the damp, misty forest and suddenly coming face-to-face with a fearsome bear. Being blind so he seems to lose advantages to the bear then Jerlamarel suddenly appears to help kill the bear with an arrow.

Baba Voss then has a conversation with  Jerlamarel, who asks him to name the kids Haniwa and Kofun, and gives him a container of books to be passed to the kids when they are 12 summer years.

Not far away, Gether Bax, who is always upset with Baba, hears Baba calling out Jerlamarel’s name. This encourages him to take actions to spy on Baba’s activities and deliver messages in bottles down the stream to the Queen. 

Meanwhile, Maghra isn’t happy about the fact that the kids’ possible ability to see, as well as the hidden presence of Jerlamarel’s books when her children’s 12th birthday is gonna coming, in the fear that they would leave the village someday. She has persuaded Baba to keep the books a secret to the children forever.

The old lady Paris objects the ideas of Maghra and shows the books to the children  anyway, also informing them about their true father. Upon hearing the facts, Kofun angrily storms out, and Paris sends Haniwa after him. Later the two children starts to happily read the books.


Back at the palace, Queen faces some accusations and inside objections to her caring more about Jerlamarel than the fact that the dam’s engines are breaking down and the water is rising. Queen Kane holds a public execution for the two dis-consented traitors by hoisting them in the air by chains and frying them to a glowing crisp with turbine-generated electricity which she describes to the public as her “magic”.
