In Episode 23/24 Season 11 "Family" of AMC's The Walking Dead series, with Mercer's support, the Alexandrian decide to infiltrate the Commonwealth to expose the truth about Pamela and overthrow her.
Pamela begins to suspect Mercer, so she sends a watch to oversee him. Somehow Pamela guessed Mercer's plan. The Alexandrian group is ambushed by Pamela and her secret agents at the town hall. Tyler Davis and several witnesses are shot dead. Judith saves Meggie from Pamela's shooting, so she is hit by Pamela's bullet.
The Alexandrian group cancels all plans, and does everything possible to bring Judith to the medical clinic for an emergency, as intelligent mutant undead begin to flood the Commonwealth.
Before that, when trying to separate from the zombie herd, Lydia tries to save Elijah from blowing away with the herd, but is bitten on the arm by a zombie. To save her from turning into a zombie, Aaron and Jerry decide to cut off her injured arm.
In Episode 22/24 Season 11 "Faith" of AMC's The Walking Dead series, Aaron, Lydia, Elijah, and Jerry encounter Luke and Jules who have just escaped from Oceanside after the settlement was taken over by the Commonwealth. Hunted by Commonwealth soldiers, the group fashion themselves into whisperers to blend into a massive swarm.
The red and white soldiers begin to lead the herd somewhere; In this swarm there is at least one variant that has picked up Lydia's dropped knife.
In the Commonwealth, Eugene stands trial for the murder of Sebastian. Yumiko uses the trial to reach the working class, with the goal of inciting discontent to destabilize into a riot. However, it is difficult to make things explode that easily.
Eugene is found guilty and sentenced to immediate public execution, but Mercer and several soldiers manage to let him escape.
In Alexandria, Ezekiel and Negan plot a revolt against the brutal warden. They try to enlist the coordination of Tyler Davis, now a cellmate. Using the sewers, Daryl, Connie, Carol and Maggie manage to sneak in and rescue Hershel, but Rosita's infant daughter is still missing.
After the rebellion is discovered, Negan chooses to plead guilty to being the leader to save the others, but the warden turned his back and wanted to execute Negan's wife also. Ezekiel leads some prisoners to protect Negan and Annie. Ezekiel is able to convince most of the soldiers to drop their guns, the warden is hit down by Daryl.
The community has recaptured Alexandria, but the warden adamantly refuses to tell Rosita where they hide her daughter, so Rosita feeds him to a zombie to take revenge.
In Episode 21/24 Season 11 "Outpost 22" of the AMC's The Walking Dead series, the settlement of Alexlandria is "conquered" by the Commonwealth to become an outpost, and Maggie and the others are taken away.
On the escorted truck, Maggie, Gabriel, and Rosita try to escape. They then reunite with Daryl and Carol. They seek various ways to get information about the train's destination - where the Alexandrians are detained and forced into hard labor at the "bottom" of society. However, most of their efforts don't work.
They intercepte another train, with Connie on it, and press the driver to give the location of the destination. However, he chooses to commit suicide because his family would be killed by the Commonwealth if he revealed any secrects.
Having worked in the Commonwealth's guard for a while, Rosita uses a communications device found on the train to call to the command center by a fake identity to extract information. She learns that their friends being sent back to the settlement of Alexandria - now Outpost 22 for "reprocessing".
In Episode 20 Season 11 "What's Been Lost" of the AMC's The Walking Dead series, Yomiko as a prosecutor of the Commonwealth has a brave decision to defend Eugene; Daryl and Carol track down the leads of the Alexandrians who were captured and taken away.
Enraged after her son's death, Pamela decides to purge all people from Alexandria, and pressures Yomiko to prosecute Eugene on murder charge.
Daryl and Carol are the two people who escape the mass arrest by Pamela's agents. They break into Lance's cell in the hope that he will provide clues as to where the Alexandrians are being held.
They make it beyond the Commonwealth's walls and deal with the undead and the pursuit of the guards. Finally, Lance gives clues about the train from the Commonwealth leading to another secret area - where dissidents are kept.
Daryl and Carol set Lance free, but he suddenly takes a gun in order kill them. Seemingly anticipating Lance's dirty game, Carol had already prepared an arrow to finish him off as he takes the move.
