Moros Intrepidus - the mini T-Rex to appear in Jurassic World: Dominion 2022

Tyrannosaurus Rex may have been the "tyrant lizard king" but before the T-Rex became titanic and ferocious to dominate what is now North America, their ancestors weren't really of the elite race: they were small, gangly, agile, adapted to a crouching lifestyle under the shadow of much larger carnivores. Those are the Moros Intrepidus.

The gang predator fills an important gap in our understanding of how Tyrannosaurs evolved and dominated during the Cretaceous.

Moros weighs only about 77 kilograms (170 pounds) and is about 1.6 meters (5 feet) tall, about the size of an average human. They are one of the smallest dinosaurs of their kind dating from the Cretaceous period, between 66 million and 145 million years ago. They are a miniature version of the T-Rex, but with a distinctive feature that their limbs are quite slender.

A fossil of Moros discovered in Utah dating back to 96 million years ago, it is also the oldest Cretaceous Tyrannosaur skeleton found in this area, pushing back its date by 15 million years. Roughly speaking, they are the ancestors of the giant T-Rex that we are familiar with on Jurassic Park/World movies.

Moros is an important link in understanding the evolution of the T-Rex. They lived in the golden age of the largest carnivore of their time, the Allosaurus. And as the Allosaurus began to die out, Moros gradually evolved over tens of millions of years to increase its size by 100 times, shifting from a herd/gang lifestyle to a largely solitary lifestyle.

Furthermore, Moros closely resembles the Tyrannosaur that lived in Asia in the early Cretaceous. It's discovered and widely-accepted that the ancestors of Moros traveled across a land bridge from Asia to North America, as part of a dinosaur species exchange between the two continents.

In honor of Moros' great journey, researchers gave Moros the suffix "Intrepidus" for their being dauntless transcontinental travelers.

In a teaser image by Colin Trevorrow, Moros shall appear in Jurassic World: Dominion to be released on June 10th 2022 by Universal Pictures.

HUMANS BECOME PREY TO DINOSAURS IN A SHARED WORLD

Set a year after the events of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, a mixed family from Oakland, California goes camping at the (fictional) Big Rock National Park in Northern California, 32km from the site where dinosaurs was released in the previous event. The film records the first major confrontation between humans and dinosaurs in the human world.

The family is enjoying their dinner during a camping trip at the park when suddenly a Nasutoceratops and its young arrive at the campfire. To their horror, an adult Allosaurus attacks the Nasutoceratops and the mother reptile tries to protect her young. A battle takes place between two dinosaurs and the family decides to hide inside their truck.

Finally, a third Nasutoceratops appeared from the forest shadow, confronting the Allosaurus. The Nasutoceratops then escape in safe, the family's baby begins to cry. Hearing the sound, the Allosaurus approaches to destroy the RV to hunt down the panicking family members inside. At the critical moment, the family's daughter uses a crossbow to shoot Allosaurus in its head and eyes, causing the dinosaur to run away.

HUMANS LIVING WITH DINOSAURS

In the credits, some short clips introduce people "living together" with dinosaurs: a swarm of Compsognathus harmlessly chasing a frightened little girl; a Stegosaurus causing a car to deflect and likely fall off a cliff; fishermen in a boat peacefully passing a Parasaurolophus on the riverbank; a pore-shaped Mosasaurus snatching a great white shark after it had just eaten a seal, and one Pteranodon swooping in on a newly released pigeon by a couples at their wedding.

The fate of the Raptors pack in Jurassic World 2015 (Blue, Echo, Delta, and Charlie)

The pack of 4 raptors including Blue, Echo, Delta, and Charlie (Raptor Squad) were created by combining DNA of Velociraptors with a number of other avian species to make most of their best genes.

Raptor Blue features a metallic blue stripe that runs from its mouth to its tail, and she is named accordingly. She is the first - born and largest one, possibly the smartest also in the pack. During her youth, she had a victorious fight with Echo to win the dominance over the pack.

As soon as they were born, they were exposed to Owen (actor Chris Pratt) for the first time to form a life-time loyal link with him who would become their trainer.

Under the dangerous situation of Indominus Rex’s “uprising and massacre”, the Raptor Squad were mobilized to accompany the gunmen to kill this super-gened creature. Being face-to-face, a belated truth came to light:  Indominus Rex was created with some Raptor’s DNA. Basically, it was also a Raptor.

I-Rex unexpectedly conversed with the Raptor, quickly established his role as the new pack leader and  commanded the four Raptors to attack back humans. THE RAPTORS SQUAD QUICKLY OVERCAME THE HUMAN SQUAD.

CHARLIE is the youngest of the pack, possibly the most naïve and lovely one. When found, Owen was holding a gun but did not intend shoot it. Nor did he intend to attack Owen, but looked at Owen with curious glances for a loved one. At that moment, Charlie was hit by a rocket. Only 3 Raptors were left.

BLUE was called away by Owen to save his friend, while Echo and Delta chased after Claire and the two kids. In the final confrontation, the three Raptors surrounded the four people. Owen removed Blue's neck device and regained her trust.

Indominus Rex suddendly appeared and ordered Blue to attack Owen. Blue went against his order, then was knocked down unconsciously ... and were supposed to be dead. Echo and Delta attacked the tyrant in retaliation. … but two of them faced the catastrophic death.

At the critical seconds of I-Rex vs T-Rex fight, Blue regained consciousness and rejoined the battle, saving Tyrannosaurus Rex (Rexy) from the tyrant's deadly bite. The battle was over. Blue looked at Rexy ...

Then she looked at Owen and run into the night’s darkness ... It was all alone from that moment. Several years later, she appeared again in the Fallen Kingdom and played a key role in saving Chris Patt against Indoraptor.
