Is 2021 too late for a Black Widow's solo movie?

Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) first appeared in MCU films beginning with Iron Man 2 in 2010. It sadly takes more than a decade for a solo movie about this beloved superheroine to come up, especially after her death in The Avengers: Endgame.

_________

Black Widow is scheduled to be released in the United States on May 7, 2021, as the first film in Phase Four of the MCU.

In the Endgame, Black Widow and Hawkeye needed to sacrifice someone they loved so they could get the Soul Stone as part of the time heist. The heroin ended up sacrificing herself so Hawkeye could go back to his family once the snap was undone.

Black Widow's sacrfice was something essential for the fight against Thanos who was defeated after Iron Man’s final snap. The surviving heroes attended Iron Man’s memorial service and all paid respect to him, however Black Widow didn’t get any memorial or ceremony - she was totally forgotten by some mistakes from ... the movie makers.

Fans of Black Widow always feel sorry for her death as well as her being "forgotten". So it's never too late to have a solo movie about her.

The plot of Black Widow 2021 is also interesting enough: Following the events of Captain America: Civil War (2016), Natasha Romanoff finds herself alone and forced to confront a dangerous conspiracy with ties to her past. She had to face the powerful Task Master who was hired to hunt down the Avengers, whereas she was his first target.

Avengers Endgame goes empty-handed at Oscar 2020

Avengers: Endgame had smashed all the records of cinematic history as officially the highest-grossing movie, however the movie went home empty hand from the Oscars 2020. The only nomination it got at this award was “Best Visual Effects”, but eventually it lost out to the “1917” movie.

Superhero films are usually not considered Oscar-worthy, with Black Panther being a rare exception -  the first Marvel film to be nominated for Best Picture. However, biggest movies in the past usually won something at Oscar, mostly technically, such as the cases of  Gone With the Wind, Jurassic Park, Avatar, Titanic. Now, Avengers Endgame makes history again by being the first empty-handed biggest.

It does not really matter to Avengers lovers so much: Disney has announced that Avengers would assemble for eight more MCU movies across 2022 and 2023. Of course, we would not see Iron Man, Captain America, Black Widow again.

Avengers 2012 and Avengers 2019 (Endgame): Parallel fighting scences

These fighting scenes look so similar in action and courses of actions, as if they were in parallel: the game with Thor hammers, the face-to-face clashes, the head struggles, the slash of something like a blade ... Of courses, the figures in action are different ...

Let's have a look back at Thor, Captain America, Hulk and Thanos.

Captain America is as strong as Thor, no doubt!

With Avengers Endgame, it as the time to say farewell to Captian America in Marvel world of heros. It was also the time we came to know more about the potential of Captain America – quite fantastic.

The endgame fighting with Thanos started with just 3 heroes: Captain America, Thor and Iron Man. When Iron Man was torn apart and thrown away, and Thor was pushed back with the possibility of his own hammer killing him.

Captain America suddenly summoned the original Hammer to the surprise of Thor. At that time, he was the sole human, in stead of a God, could do it. It was the time Thor was saved from the fatal hit by Thanos.

With the thunder hammer, Captain American could make a beat back, making Thanos falling down in the face-to-face clash.

He even could summon thunder from the sky to blast the villain.

However, his critical hit on Thanos was missed and he lost the momentum, subsequently overwhelmed by Thanos.

After a long journey of almost ten years in the Avengers world, we finally came to know his ultimate power. But he wont come back …

Avengers Endgame: Which is the saddest farewell - Iron Man, Black Widow or Captain America?

The Infinity War had wiped out many of our heros, the Endgame War has brought them back, but in the mean time some of our favorite characters would leave the Marvel world forever.

Who would you miss the most?

A soul for a Soul. Black Widow sacrified herself so that Clint Barton could get the Soul Stone on the Vormir.

On the way back to the past to return the Stones to the time line, Captain America decided to live his full life - his youth - as a normal man besideds his lover. He returned to the present as an old man and handed over the Shield - the symbol of Captain America to Black Panther.

One chance in a 14 millions. Iron Man snapped the Infinity Gloves of 5 Stones to wipe out Thanos's army and the titan. He could not survive the subsequent destruction of such a snap.

Will Captain America survive the events of the Endgame?

Last year Chris Evans who played Captain America has effectively made it official on the New York Times that he'll leave the Marvel Cinematic Universe after wrapping the filming the Avengers 4.

The actor, who has played Captain America since 2011, said he'll suit up one last time this fall for planned reshoots for the sequel to Avengers: Infinity War. With that, his contract with Marvel Studios is up, and he has no plans to return.

Relating Chris Evans's leaving MCU and the possible plot of Avengers 4, many fans believe that Captain America won't survive the events of Endgame, although he survived the Infinity War.

As MCU devotees count the days to the April 26 release of Avengers: Endgame, directors Joe and Anthony Russo have shared an emotional video tribute to Chris Evans' Captain America, blending clips and audio from Evans' MCU appearance to honor his character.
