Death on the Nile: Armie Hammer Maintains His Play Role, But Downsized

Near the February 11, 2022 release date of the movie Death on the Nile, 20th Century Studios released a number of new posters and trailers, showing that actor Armie Hammer is still present but his role has been significantly downsized.

Death on the Nile is a mystery thriller film directed by Kenneth Branagh from a screenplay by Michael Green, based on the 1937 novel of the same name by Agatha Christie. In the film, an unexpected murder occurs on the yacht S.S. Karnak on its Nile journey through Egypt. Famed Belgian detective Hercule Poirot is tasked with determining who of the passengers is the killer before they can move on to another victim.

Agatha Christie's original novels tap deeply into people's lusts and carnal pleasures, which get them caught up in merciless machination and behaviors, shrouded in a facade of their polite, luxurious, noble  and romantic appearances.

Armie Hammer plays Simon Doyle, husband of Linnet (Gal Gadot) and ex-lover of Jacqueline (Emma Mackey). Jacqueline is another jealous old friend of Linnet.

When Armie Hammer was involved in a scandal about suspicions of "cannibalism", "sexual abuse", there were many rumors that the film producer was re-casting another actor to replace Armie, or even use technique to digitally remove Armie's character from every frame. However, maybe it proved to be too complicated to do so because at that time the movie has been basically finished, Armie's role is still kept.

Armie's image is placed at a limited position on the main poster of the movie, he also does not have his own character poster like many other cast. In the first teaser, there was no footage of Armie, to the official trailer, there are a few short segments of him.

As an ardent supporter of the LGBT movement, the star of Wonder Woman and Justice League Gal Gadot posted a status congratulating the Pride 2021 parade taking place in her hometown Tel Aviv, Israel.

Gal Gadot was Miss Universe Israel 2004, being active in many entertainment fields including modeling, acting and film production. Her most impressive role is Wonder Woman in DC's series such as "Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice" (2016), Wonder Woman (2017), Wonder Woman 1984 (2020).

In 2020, Forbes ranked Gadot as the third highest paid actress in the world, with an annual income of $31.5 million.

In the upcoming projects, Gadot is confirmed to reunite with Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins in Cleopatra, an epic film following the Egyptian Queen, produced by Paramount Pictures. She was also enlisted in the spy thriller Heart of Stone.

Her two films to be released soon include the action movie "Red Notice" for Netflix (also starring Dwayne Johnson and Ryan Reynolds), and "Death on the Nile" by director Kenneth Branagh which is expected to be released in February 2022.

Justice League cast' cold face on Snyder Cut release, except Ray Fisher and Henry Cavill

Justice League 2021 Zack Snyder's version (also known as Snyder Cut) received the indifference from most of the main cast when it was eventually aired on HBO Max a day ago, as so different from the big promotions in 2017.

Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman) hardly mentioned Snyder Cut on her personal Facebook of 17 million followers. Two days before Snyder Cut airing (March 16), she only posted there to promote Wonder Woman 1984's Digital Copy.

Jason Momoa ( Aquaman) did not mention League of Justice 2021 on his main social channel being Instagram with more than 15 million followers.

Ben Affleck (Batman) has only one symbolic action: to change the cover image of his Facebook page with 1.6 million followers to a poster image of Zack Snyder's Justice League.

This lethargy can originate from various reasons: the above actors and actress already fulfilled their obligations to promote the movie since ... 2017 and are now busy with new projects; or maybe they don't want to talk much about a movie that has been a disappointment to fans and a huge box office failure.

Ray Fisher (Cyborg) is probably the most enthusiastic actor in promoting Snyder Cut. His Instagram is filled with images and trailers about the movie. This is pretty understandable too: the 2021 version has put his character almost at the center of the movie plot and this may be his last affair with DC Films after many conflicts and arguments.

Don't be too disappointed. There is still a Henry Cavill Superman, although he is now more mentioned as Geralt of Rivia in The Witcher, and he hasn't forgotten to congratulate Zack Snyder on his work.

He wrote: "Here's to you Zack. Congratulations! I know this has been an arduous journey for you, you kept fighting, though. I couldn't be happier to see your vision for Justice League realised. And what a movie it is! ".

Henry Cavill also posted some behind-the-scenes photos, with Zack Snyder in directing. After only 4 hours of posting, his post has received 150,000 likes and more than 4,000 "congratulations" comments.

Justice League Snyder Cut 2021 to pave the way for future DCEU movies 🎥

Justice League 2021 Snyder's version (also known as Snyder Cut) that has been released on the online platform HBO Max has some new and exciting improvements over the 2017 theatrical release version. However, the original storyline remains unchanged, new elements only pave the way for future works of the DC Extended Universe (DCEU).

Before watching this movie, you should take some notes for preparations: the film lasts up to 4 hours, equivalent to a standard TVseries so you need to prepare time and mentality to watch it; in addition, the frame is designed in an almost square ratio (4: 3), so you will find it a bit frustrating when watching movies on TV or computer.

This is a movie about Cyborg

Cyborg is the only character with a full portfolio in the movie: his origin, biography, relatives, supernatural abilities, psychological life and emotions ... Cyborg is originally called Victor Stone - a former soccer star encountering tragic stories regarding his parents. Cyborg's robot body was created by his father and activated by the energy of a Mother Box.

Wonder Woman and Aquaman meanwhile have moderate appearances in the Snyder Cut, perhaps because they've had their own solo movies which fully portray the characters adequately.

Darkseid has appeared but is not the main villain

In Justice League 2021, Darkseid is a New God, who looks a bit like Marvel's Thanos but is all black, Lord of the planet Akopolips and the master of Steppenwolf.

Darkseid appears in the flashback of his attack on Earth centuries ago and was met with resistance by the Atlanteans, Amazons, Zeus and the Green Lantern - however the flashback is a rather short, but visually perfect.

In the main storyline of the movie Darkseid doesn't really have many scenes, and the main villain in most battles is still Steppenwolf as the previous version.

Snyder Cut also shows The Joker

The Joker also does not appear in the main plot, but only in the last part, during a journey that is probably the superheros' attack on Darkseid's planet.

The Joker acts as the second self-version of Batman to question his conscience about his plans, goals, and actions.

Snyder Cut tends to pave the way for other DCEU films

While reviving Superman, Cyborg senses the prospect of one day Superman being on his knees and bowing to Darkseid.

Meanwhile, Batman has a dream about a team of superheroes attack on the planet Akopolips, where Wonder Woman and Aquaman are absent; however, there are some other DC characters who are not in the Justice League such as Mera, Deathstroke or Joker in a SWAT outfit.

After waking up, Batman receives a surprise visit from Martian Manhunter who offers to join force with him in future efforts to protect the earth.

Wonder Woman 2020 and the Dreamstone

The Wonder Woman 1984 (or WW 2) is a 2020 American superhero film based on the character of the same name in the  DC Comics. This is a sequel to 2017's Wonder Woman and the ninth movie in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU). Set in 1984 during the Cold War, the movie follows Diana (Gal Gadot) and her past-to-resurrected love Steve Trevor (Chris Pine) as they confront the ambitious Max Lord and Cheetah.

@ Warner Bros has announced they have officially fast-tracked Wonder Woman 3 following Wonder Woman 1984's stellar box office and HBO Max performance.

The plot revolves around the magical Dreamstone at the Smithsonian Institution where Diana works. Diana accidentally uses the stone to make a wish that her deceased lover Steve Trevor was still alive; the wish comes true and his soul then returns in another man's body and reunites with her.

Barbara (later Cheetah) - a colleague who is jealous of Diana also uses the stone to acquire superpowers like Diana. And businessman Maxwell "Max Lord" Lorenzano - a blatant business owner visited the Smithsonian Institution under the guise of a wealthy sponsor to approach the stone in hopes of saving his failing oil company.

Max Lord and Barbara take advantage of the miracles brought by the stone to satisfy their endless greed, and they refuse to stop until they cause a worldwide disaster. Diana must fight against them and she also has to accept to give up her wish, which means she would lose her beloved Steve Trevor again and forever, to undo the wishing powers of the stone.
